The Allegheny County Morgue is the first accredited county lab in Pennsylvania and houses the county’s crime lab. The lab provides forensic, analytical and medical testing services to law enforcement agencies throughout the country.

The interior features a 24-hour evidence drop-off area, on-site vehicular processing, an indoor firing range, 4,300 sq. ft. of high-density storage, a forensic laboratory that allows for automated DNA extraction through robotics and 75 security cameras throughout the building.

Eco-friendly solutions include natural lighting, an automated lighting control system that conserves energy through motion sensors and scheduled shut-off times, and a deionized water system that re-circulates unused water.
